Steve and his team did a wonderful job gutting the ratty old bathroom at our cottage and built something so beautiful it makes me want to keep going on in the rest of the place! He also took care of several small projects to make our 60 year old cottage more liveable. He did a great job coordinating other trades, including electrical and plumbing so that the finished project was seamlessly done! He did a great job of keeping us informed throughout the process so we could have confidence in the outcome. Being in this industry and working with a lot of contractors, Jamie and his crew were professional, reliable, offered competitive pricing, with a high quality craftsmanship. They were honest, did not try to price gouge and were able to resolve any unforeseen problems quickly and cost effectively. They even fixed the previous contractors deficiencies. We are very pleased with all the completed work, including outdoor vinyl siding, installation of insulation, vapor barrier and drywall (including mudding, sanding and painting), and installation of the pine plank ceiling. We felt so fortunate to secure Steve and his crew. Steve was patient, kind, honest and always professional despite our inexperience and tardiness. He beautifully gutted and built 2 apartment units for us. He organized everything from electrical to plumbing and was ahead of the game for ordering cabinets, fixtures, and all of this in the middle of supply shortages. Fall of 2019, when we called Steve James & sons for an estimate for replacing 8 large windows, and the wood framing in out home. He came a day later, with the estimate and his competitive rate. As he was between jobs he started our project right away. Showing up every day and working long hours with a positive attitude and pleasant manner. We had a few rainy, and very cold days for outside work, but the project was completed in good time, and the site was left clean and tidy. Yes, Bert & I would recommend Steve to our friends. Read Less
